YANDINA SUNRISE PROJECT

Yandina sunrise - a special project to us. The design was by Brisbane based Architects A-CH (Atelier Chen Hung) who have a strong emphasis on designs that integrate with the surrounding environment. With only 125m2 of floor area, this home has been built with high end detail and finishings. With three large 3m high floor to ceiling zero clearance custom Vic ash sliding doors, polished concrete floors, polished render and natural stone inlay to door thresholds and kitchen floor area. Victorian Ash cabinetry and Terrazzo benchtops are a highlight of the home. Large custom zero clearance dividing doors open up the entire space and 3 meter ceilings throughout give the main living area an open feel. The house is situated halfway up a steep hill that is predominantly rock and silty clay, bringing its own challenges to the building strategy for a polished concrete base project. The groundworks proved difficult with every footing dug. Once out of the ground, a lot of thought, creativity and skill had to be applied to ensure all the beautiful components of this small home work to achieve its high calibre finish.
